This blade is part of the “SF” family (single-edge flat) used in oscillating knife tools on Kongsberg tables, as opposed to drag knives (DR), round blades (DF), or router bits.
Given its 23° angle and 47.5 mm edge, the BLD-SF102 is optimized for:
Triple-wall corrugated board (its stated primary use).
Other thick, fibrous, or abrasive sheet materials where an oscillating knife is preferred over drag or static blades (e.g., heavy display board, some foam-core composites, thick folding cartons in sample shops).
Compared to finer-angle blades (e.g., 40–45°) used for vinyl, thin plastics, or single/double-wall board, the 23° angle gives a more robust edge that resists chipping under high load in thick, layered corrugated.
If you’re running Kongsberg XN, XL, or C-series tables:
The BLD-SF102 mounts in an oscillating knife tool that accepts SF-type flat blades (often via a dedicated SF blade adapter).
It’s not a drop-in for DR (drag) or DF (round) tool holders; you must be using the correct oscillating head and adapter designed for SF blades.
Aftermarket “compatible” blades labeled as “for BLD-SF102 / 42411041” exist, but for critical sample-making or high-volume triple-wall work, many shops stick with genuine Esko/Kongsberg blades to ensure consistent edge geometry and life.
