Perfect chip removal (chip control) : "Sticking" or chip remelting is very common in aluminum alloy machining. The 3-flute design has a larger chip groove space than the 4-flute design, and higher cutting efficiency and better workpiece surface finish than the 2-flute design.

High helix angle (usually 45° or 55°) : A helix angle of 45° or higher allows the cutting edge to enter the workpiece more smoothly (soft entry), greatly reducing vibration and resonance (chatter), while the powerful **up-cut** action quickly removes the chips away from the machining area.

Specialized coating selection
While some aluminum cutting tools are uncoated to maintain absolute sharpness, in order to achieve higher feed rates and excellent lifespan, the following two types of special coatings that are not compatible with aluminum are usually added:

ZrN (zirconia) coating : presents a light gold color, significantly improves tool hardness, is extremely wear-resistant, and provides high thermal resistance to prevent material adhesion.

DLC (diamond-like carbon/color) coating : It has extremely high hardness close to that of diamond and a very low coefficient of friction (as low as 0.1), which makes it outstanding in high-speed finishing and dry cutting
