Material Composition & Coating
  • Micrograin Carbide Base: Fabricated to highly rigorous industry tolerances to ensure reliable structural stability under rapid spindle speeds. 
  • Titanium Nitride (TiN) "Gold" Coating: Gives the bit its signature gold appearance. This physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating shields the carbide base against localized thermal stress, significantly extending the tool's cutting lifespan and lowering overall operational costs. 
Functional Mechanics & Material Focus
Unlike spiral bits that pull or push chips vertically, a radial straight-edge bit cuts strictly along a horizontal plane. 
  • Zero-Lift "Shear" Action: The single straight edge shears material cleanly right at the top surface boundary. This stops thin sheets from lifting, warping, or fluttering on the vacuum bed. 
  • Burr-Free Edges: Minimizing vertical movement allows it to trim sheet edges perfectly clean without forming annoying exit burrs. 
  • Ideal Material Applications: Highly optimized for slicing thin non-ferrous sheet metal like sheet aluminum and brass with a thickness of .060” (1.5mm) or less. It is also regularly used for machining softwoods and soft alloy aluminums
