The flat, static layout means the SF230 is designed for non-powered, fixed tangential or dragging operations rather than high-frequency vertical sawing. On Kongsberg cutting tables, it seamlessly fits into:

Primary Material Applications

Because the blade features a shallow 2mm maximum cutting depth and a single sharp, sweeping edge, it is the industry baseline standard for matboard and frame cutting :

• Matboard / Picture Frame Mounts: Specifically optimized for executing flawless 45° or straight bevel border cuts ( passe-partout ) on framing matboards without creating fuzzy or ragged edges.

• Thick Specialty Cardstock: Cleanly processing heavy compressed presentation paperboard, multi-layered scrapbooking stocks, and structural layout cards.

• Thin Gaskets & Plastics: Slicing through shallow rubber washers, compact sealing gaskets, and low-density polymer veneers.
  
  
  Operational Tip: Solid carbide knives like the SF230 are structurally rigid but possess low impact tolerance. When processing framing matboards, ensure your table's underlayment or vacuum mat is completely clean. If the blade tip catches a tiny buried shard of a broken carbide bit or a stray metal fragment, the 2mm tip will snap off immediately.
