  • Material: Ultra-fine Micro-grain Tungsten Solid Carbide

Material Adaptability & Intricate Applications
The 500-9854 excels at fine-detail sheet fabrication and intricate signmaking on substrates up to 6 mm thick
  • Intricate Acrylic Profiles: The narrow 3 mm cutting tip produces highly detailed radiuses and sharp tight corners that 4 mm or 6 mm cutting tips cannot achieve.
  • Aluminum Composite Materials (ACM / Dibond): Ideal for cleanly routing out narrow fold-lines or complex geometric contours in thin ACM panels.
  • Plastics & PVC: Safely carves out detailed lettering, stencils, and retail display components in rigid PVC and polycarbonates.

Key Design Benefits
  • The "BAL" High-Frequency Advantage: This bit is dynamically balanced (BAL). When spun at the extremely high RPMs of the Summa High-Frequency Router module, the balancing minimizes micro-vibrations. This yields a smoother edge finish on sensitive plastics and prevents premature wear on your spindle's internal bearings.
  • Stepped Geometry Strength: Straight 3 mm bits (like the 500-9850) are highly prone to snapping due to thin shanks. The 500-9854 remedies this by using a robust 6 mm base shank that narrows down to a 3 mm tip. This configuration provides the intricate cutting capabilities of a 3 mm bit with the rigid clamping stability of a 6 mm tool.
  • Up-Cut Efficiency: The single spiral O-flute aggressively forces hot plastic chips and metal fragments upward. This ensures the Summa vacuum extraction system can pull away the debris before it melts and fuses back to the finished edge.

Operational Requirements
This bit requires a 6 mm collet to fit into your Summa router spindle. Given the delicate 3 mm cutting end, carefully configure your Down Position origin manually over your protective mat in Summa Axis Control to avoid micro-chipping the tool tip during initialization
