Three Core Golden Rules for Size Selection
1,Cutting depth allowance principle (10% - 15% redundancy) :
Because CNC cutting machines need to penetrate the material and finely adjust the blade to embed itself into the protective felt/cutting pad below (usually 0.5mm - 1.5mm), never choose a blade whose maximum cutting depth is exactly the same as the material thickness . For example, when cutting 30mm thick foam board, this should be abandoned BT-57230, and a different type of blade should be selected BT-57235 instead BT-57240.

2,The principle of maximizing rigidity (choose shorter over longer) :
While cemented carbide (tungsten steel) is extremely wear-resistant, the longer the cutting depth, the greater the lateral shearing force exerted on the blade by high-frequency reciprocating vibrations. It is strictly forbidden to use it to cut 10mm cardboard for the sake of "saving time BT-572110 ." An excessively long, suspended blade will generate micro-resonance during high-speed feed, leading to wavy cuts, shortened blade life, or even chipping.

3,Machine tool tip travel matching : Before
using thick inserts (such as 0.5mm and above), you must confirm the Z-axis clearance BT-572065 of your AXYZ Trident or MultiCam equipment . If the travel is insufficient, the insert tip will directly scratch or drag the material surface when lifting and swishing or during rapid traverse.
