Router Bits Knife Blades Mats For Colex Sharpcut Flatbed Cutter
For Colex Sharpcut flatbed cutters, the key consumables include router bits, knife blades, and spoiler/mat surfaces. These components are essential for operations such as routing, knife cutting, and kiss cutting. The Colex consumables catalog also highlights specialized oscillating knife blades, fixed knives, and a variety of router-bit options tailored to the Sharpcut systems.

Compatible Consumables for Specific Tasks
- Router Bits: Designed for use with rigid and semi-rigid materials like acrylic, PVC, Sintra, wood, MDF, and composite panels. Additionally, Colex specialty bits for advanced tasks like 3D routing and compression cutting.
- Knife Blades: Suitable for precision cutting of materials such as vinyl, thicker vinyl, and other sheet goods. Sharpcut systems come equipped with both fixed and oscillating knife tooling, with replacement blades available to match specific tool configurations.
- Mats/Spoiler Mats: Protect the cutting bed and provide material support during operations. Spoiler mats are specifically designed for routing, knife cutting, and kiss-cutting applications, ensuring table protection and cut consistency.

Practical Usage Guide
- Opt for knife blades when working on vinyl, thin films, or kiss-cut projects.
- Use router bits for cutting through acrylic, PVC, MDF, wood, or composite sheets.
- Employ spoiler mats during routing or knife operations to safeguard the table surface and maintain cutting precision.

Example Applications
- For 3D routing tasks on wood or PVC, consider Colex specialty ball nose bits such as models T00554 or T00555.
- When cutting thick vinyl, fixed double-edge knife blades compatible with tool T00120 could be an ideal choice.

The Colex Sharpcut flatbed cutting systems support a wide variety of official tools and consumables designed for specific material applications.

Router Bits

Colex  a range of router bits primarily with 6mm or 8mm shank diameters, designed for different materials and finishes.
  • Upcut Bits: Used for acrylics, wood, and aluminum to pull chips upward. Common sizes include 3mm and 4mm cut diameters.
  • Downcut Bits: Used for plastics and Di-Bond to push chips downward for a cleaner top surface. A common model is the T00506 (4mm cut diameter).
  • Specialty Bits: Includes Compression bits (e.g., T00558) for splinter-free wood cutting up to 22mm thick, and Straight Cutting bits (e.g., T00550) for general edge trimming.
  • Collet Compatibility: Bits must match the collet size of the installed router (available for 1HP, 3HP, and 5HP models).

Knife Blades

Blades are categorized by the tool head they are used with, such as oscillating or static.
  • Oscillating Blades: Designed for soft materials like foam and corrugated board.
    • T00418: 6mm (1/4") length for materials up to 1/4".
    • T00420 - T00428: Lengths ranging from 14mm (9/16") to 32mm (1-1/4") for deeper cuts.
  • Static/Drag Blades:
    • Universal Single Edge (T00330): Cuts materials like Sintra and foamboard up to 6mm thick.
    • Double Edge (T00312/T00313): 60° and 80° options for vinyl, magnet, and PVC up to 3mm.
    • Kiss-Cutting (T00212/T00213): Specialty blades for liners and adhesives.
  • Rotary Blades: Used for textiles and fabrics, including the 45mm Heavy Duty Rotary Blade and the ten-sided T00360.

Sacrificial Mats

Mats (also called spoiler or sacrificial mats) protect the table and assist with vacuum hold-down.
  • Green Sacrificial Mat (T00177): Universal 2.5mm thick mat for both knife and router cutting. Sizes include 64" x 124" and 67" x 127".
  • Felt Mats: Used primarily for routing and underlayment.
    • Black Felt (T00170): 1/8" thick, 4' x 5' size.
    • Blue Felt (T00175): 1/8" thick, 5' x 10' size.
  • Beige Filter Mat (T00165): Used as an underlining, typically 5' x 10'.
