Summa Tool Code (Full Name) Naming Rules

Each Summa router tool is labeled with a string like D6/6 L58/22 1FL UC BAL MP, which serves as a code containing its physical specifications. By decoding this string, you can quickly grasp all the tool's key parameters.

• D (Shank/Cutting Diameter) : For example, D6/3 it means that the shank diameter is 6mm (can be directly inserted into a standard collet), and the cutting edge diameter is 3mm (stepped shank design, no need to change collet when changing tools).
• L (Length / Cut Depth) : For example, L50/12 it means that the total length of the tool is 50mm and the effective cutting length (maximum cutting depth) is 12mm .
• FL (Flute) : Number of blades. Most Summa advertising-grade router blades are 1FLsingle-bladed. A single blade has a large chip groove, which can greatly prevent hard plastics and aluminum composite panels from melting and sticking together during high-speed cutting.
• UC / DC (Cut Direction) :UC Represents Up Cut , which powerfully removes chips outward and upward during high-speed rotation to prevent clogging and is most commonly used for through-cutting; DCRepresents Down Cut , which presses chips downward and is used for surface grooving or to prevent tearing of the surface of thin plates.
• BAL (Balanced) : Dynamic balancing optimization . Specifically designed for high-frequency spindles operating at speeds above 20,000 RPM, eliminating micro-vibrations and resulting in mirror-smooth cutting edges.
• MP (Multi-Purpose) : Multi-purpose , uncoated high-purity cemented carbide (white steel color).
• CT (Coated) : Hard anti-friction coating . The surface is dark or iridescent, specifically designed to insulate against processing heat, supporting ultra-high-speed cutting and significantly extending its lifespan.
